Coaching Requirements

Interested in becoming a volunteer coach for Harris Baseball Softball? This is a great opportunity to give back to our community with your time and knowledge of the game! All volunteer coaches must complete the following requirements in order to qualify to coach at Harris:

1. Click on the banner link below to submit and pass a background screening conducted by the National Center for Security Initiatives (NCSI)
2. You will be directed to create a SportsEngine account, or sign into an existing account if you already have one. 
3. Once you submit the NCSI background screening form, you will find the link to take the Abuse Prevention Systems (APS) training in your SportsEngine dashboard "Home" page or under "Registrations."
4. Complete an online safe environment training course facilitated by Abuse Prevention Systems as described in step (1.b.) above.

These coaching requirements are valid for TWO years.

Are your coaching requirements up to date? Use this process to find out:

1. Log in to your SportsEngine account here: https://user.sportngin.com/users/sign_in
2. In the SportsEngine user page menu bar, select Credentials then choose Babe Ruth League from the Organizations drop-down menu.
3. You should have an Abuse Prevention Systems Certification AND a Background Screening Certification. Check to make sure the Status for BOTH of these credentials is Active and valid through the end of the current season (Jul 7, 2026).

If your certifications are expiring or no longer active, complete the steps above to re-submit a background screening and/or renew the abuse prevention training.
